With a total investment of some CNY 3 billion (330 million Euro), and a total area of some 750,000 square meters once fully completed, this will become the first and only one-stop furnishings center in China.
Phase One opened in September 2007, featuring 200,000 square meters of excellent showroom space both for retail and B2B business. Some 225 domestic and international brands are already well established here, and two international furniture fairs have successfully been held at the Center.
Phase Two will cover an additional 250,000 square meters, including two large exhibition halls, showrooms for home accessories, restaurants from all continents, and a carefully designed landscape to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
Phase Three will add additional showroom space, exhibition halls, and a warehouse and logistics center, totaling some 400,000 square metres.
Located in Qingpu District at the outskirts of Shanghai, the center's geographical convenience allows an easy access to and from the nearby Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces as well. It will thus have a 100 million-plus consumer base in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta region, the fastest growing economy in China.
The center is also conveniently located near the forthcoming Hongqiao Transportation Hub, which is a further development of the existing Hongqiao Airport. This project will be completed in time for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, and in addition to the airport this will include an elevated high speed railway line (to Pudong airport and Hangzhou city), an inter-city railway, a metro line (subway), and several new highways and major roads. The Hongqiao airport has got flights to all major cities in China, as well as to Seoul, Tokyo and Taipei.
